Fix my bad credit advice.

I have been reading so many sites and I'm totally confused.
I read your blogs and you see to know what you are doing.
I have been Self-Employed for about 6 years and to start my dream I maxed out my Credit Cards. Tough times hit and I fell into default.
We are selling our home and moving to TN and highly motivated to clean up our credit so we can adopt another child. I know that I have 2 judgments on my credit and they will be cleared once I sell my home.
My question is. Where do I start? Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
-------------------------
you start buy getting your credit report then
read this Raise my credot score fast quickly free
then read this Credit Help
----------------------------
Maybe my eyes are tired of reading today.
Do you have any information on your site about how to get judgments off of you credit after you have paid them. If I have overlooked it I am sorry for the waste of your time.
----------------------------
judments are very hard
but this lady seems to think she knows
read this
Almost 99% of the time for me, there are probably 5 addresses on mine, or others report that are actually on there wrong
anyways, even the slightest mis spelling or backwards address is wrong, so I would either say not mine, unless I do it online, it automatically says "I have never lived there" so I delete all those addresses. They will delete them the first time, especially of you add a fraud alert first. So I send a letter saying please delete the following addresses as they are incorrect: 1,2,3 etc. If you do it online you may actually have it done within 10 days -2 weeks.
Then do the same on another letter with each additional item, such as dob, aka's, etc.
After you get this back you can have a hay day deleting stuff, because the creditors have to be able to connect you in some way to that debt, and if there is no address that is the same as the one in the debt, they will delete it. Its so fun to get credit reports back with 10 things deleted. :)After you have the bare bones on your credit reports, dispute the judgement and sometimes even after the 1st try, you'll get it back clean! :) I just deleted a BK off my parents report doing this as well. Please let me know if this works for anyone, It really makes me happy when I can help someone. I started learning about this after I had identity theft, and had to fight for years. I kinda got it down to a science, although I did find a cool site tonight that taught me some things. http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation.shtml
I have always only worked with the actual credit bureaus to delete things and never really the actual creditor until recently with companies like RJM collections, and other "bulk" collectors. This was a new technique I have never tried until tonight, so I have some mailing to do tomorrow for my husband. lol
Well, I hope you have a great night and if you need any help. Let me know and let me know if you get any success.
Thanks again for your always interesting and informative posts online. :)

I just want to make sure I understand this that I read. If I have a card in collections, I should contact the original company offer a settlement and see if I may reopen the account?
--------------------------------
no
if you call the original creditor you should offer to pay it all and some extra if they will open the same account back up and let you start over.
After 12 months ask them to report only the past 24 months activity offer settlements or reduced payments to collections that do not pay but 20 cents on the dollar

What happened then turn crazy I tried every way I could to get someone at Experian to talk to me in real time. Instead they wanted all the information in punch line over the phone. Not one question they could of asked me would have fit my question because, the verycard I had applied for decline me because get this: NO CREDIT RECORD AVAILABELE. Now you see why I can't get through to any body at this credit site that will not even talk to me

I truly have the worst credit in America and I feel hopeless. I have 11 negative accounts. that were all charged off. My credit score is 515. Where do I begin?> and from reading your website. I feel that by understanding the pattern given by you in details is the key concept to making agreements with the creditors but not to push my luck. Do I contact the original creditors or?
----------------------
contact em both
negotiate, validate and dispute before you pay. Get sign on company letter head agreements before you pay.

Credit Card Charge-Off Negotiation

I have tried to keep up with credit card payments; however, I have 1 charge-off and 1 collection forwhich I am seeking removal.
I called US Bank to ask if they would erase my charge-off if I paid the balance in full. I told them that prior to an emergency I had honored my commitment to US Bank, but that I had a family emergency that required me to give up my career and relocate overnight.
I was told by a US Bank Recovery Managerthat due to US Bank's agreement with the credit bureaus it could not remove the negative item and that it would only state that it was paid in full.
To request reconsideration I am going to send a letter using your format detailing my family situation and stating that am trying to get back on my feet. Should this not work, what do you suggest? Should I write the CEO, or is there another way? Am trying to get my career back and don't want to be turned down on a job offer b/c of my credit score. Are there any services out there that negotiate pay for delete?
What does paid in full do anyway?
----------------------------
paid in full helps ALOT over time
say 1 to 2 years
i would go with that
and establish new good credit

I have tried to establish new credit and keep getting declined

I have had the same score now for the past 3 years. It is a 493. I have tried to establish new credit and keep getting declined. I have an auto payment that is in my sisters name that i have been paying on for over a year now. I brought receipts in to show them that i was the one making the payments and on time, they said it was not good enough. Because it would not show in my credit report. Any suggestions? I also received a copy of my credit report and alot of stuff on there was duplicates and were sold to different collection agencies. I disputed them and received a letter back from the credit bureu stating that the were validated and proved to be mine. Even after i stated they were dupilcates. I am wanting to purchase a new home with in 6 months is there anything i can do to jump my score up quickly. I have just received a secured credit card as you suggested. But that will only show 1 line of credit.
----------------------------
and it will take one year to be a rated line of credit
that i dare say it your largest problemthe card reports to bureaus and is not a buy from a catalogue only card i hope for your sake\if they do report to a bureau and it is a catalogue car d keep it anyway for one year.
there are some new places on the internet that will take manual credit submissions.
but i do not think it will help with conventional mortgages as they only use
the big 3 transunion, equifax, experian here is a list i found http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/credit-repair/database?method=reportRows&tbl=1i would suggest going asking the board this same question
tell them bo sent you
they know how to deal with collections and duplicates, and i believe they might be of some help with these credit repair on yahoo groups

Can a collections agency add themselves to your credit report?

Can a collections agency add themselves to your credit report? I've already got the original "charge off" from the creditor, but now I'm dealing with an upset collection agency who was upset my last check bounced. They're the ones who forced me and harrased me into writing post dated checks to begin with, they called my work and when I told them not to they laughed at me and told me that I couldn't tell them not to. Now that balance for the amount of the third check is on my credit report too, is this legal?
--------------------------------
the original charge should be marked as zero balance if it was sold to a collections agency you have verified the debt now that you have paid them monies
the collection agency CANNOT sue you as they are not the original creditor
I know they cannot harrass you or call your work over and over and laugh at you I would try to settle the account for much less than the full balance.
most collections are bought for pennies on the dollar. I would try to settle for 50% of less not including any fees or interest.
demand account validation Explain you will talk to them no longer if they do not properly validate the debt.
explain you fill like they are violating your rights and plan to contact your state attorney general if they insist on calling you at work after you have asked them not to
-------------------------------
I've paid 2/3 of the full amount of money the collection agency wanted. The last payment I made was in 2006 and I've changed jobs and gotten a new phone number so they haven't bothered me anymore. But they are still on my credit report. Should I contact them and offer to pay the remainder if they remove themselves from my credit report? Or will doing so only re open the whole 7 year cycle again? The first date of delinquency was 01/2005. I don't want to restart the cycle now that I've "lost them." Thanks so much for having a real website for real people.
-------------------------------
if you want them off your report for good
and you can pay and the account is honestly yours yes
call them and ask them to remove if you pay in full
call from some anonomous phone number one can always take the chance of "losing them"but one also takes the chance of the virus showing up later somewhere else some other way. I always like paying to be done
remember that after 2 years the account will not hurt your credit score
ifyou have good reported and rated lines of non maxed out credit

Parking tickets on credit report. I paid the collection.

Is there any way to get parking tickets off your credit report?
I was told by the collection company if I paid they would take them off.
they didnt and said that is not there policy?
what can a guy do?
------------------
now? probably nothing
that has to be worked out before you pay
should have gotten something in writing on compnay letterhead
paid in full and as agreed

get and keep new good credit
2 years from now it wont hurt your score at all.

I have old bad credit and no new good credit

I have a question regarding improving my credit score. It is 586 (Experian) 595 (Equifax) and 588 (Transunion) POOR
I currently have no credit cards (paid the remaining balance of my Macy's- which was late once in 2007 - all agencies are reporting that it was paid satisfactory however.
I have no car loans or other installment loans.
I do have 2 judgements which are both closed - paid, but still show on my reports.
I also have 2 utility negative marks against me (AT&T and United Illuminating)
My biggest issue, is that I did a foreclosure bailout loan in December of '06... One item i noticed is that my new mortgage (which has not been paid late) does not show on either of my reports. The old mortgage, that was bailed out does show however.
-----------------------------
your big issue is no good current credit
right now get new good reported to a bureau credit
call whomever you pay your mortgage and ask why they do not report

Raise my credit score fast and free

Thank you for having such an informative credit help site!
To let you know a little about me,
I HAD a 612 credit score in September 2006, since then my score to 637 points.
I’m new to the credit card game. I just established my first credit card about 2 years ago. I did very well with it and was able to open 3 more. I fell into a financial situation and used them OVER their limit, and now my credit score has been affected. I’m I the process of getting the limits down to 50%. The second thing that made the score drop was a JUDGMENT that has just been satisfied as of 2 Friday’s ago. In the interim 30 parking Tickets showed up on my report…talk about detrimental!
I wrote the Mayor in my city to let him know that totally ruined my CREDIT! What should I do? Should I apply for another credit card to transfer the balances of the three? None of of my credit card limits are over $300 (thank goodness)!
----------------------
got to pay it all off
thats all i know to say
only 300 per credit line?
pay them off.
get and keep 3 12 months plus lines reported to bureaus credit

Injured while active duty AF 1977, placed of TDRL, medical collection judgment

I was injured while serving active duty in the AF in 1977. I was placed on TDRL (Temporary Disability Retirement List) and sent home to work a regular job and receive a 50% comp, while still a member of the USAF. In 1980 they medically retired me. The Veterans Admin, then picked me up. I had worked close to 75 jobs between 1980 and 2003. I had been fired from every one of them due to my memory problems and double vision (up close) caused by being hit by a fire truck while taking Air Force documents to the city's courthouse from my base. I was in a coma for several months and the hospital for nearly a year.

My credit was excellent until I lost my last job in late 2003. In January of 2004 the VA re evaluated me and concluded that my disability had gotten a lot worse, and raised my percentage to 100%. The only income I have is my disability monthly checks. All 3 of my past due bills were taken out while still working and receiving 50% comp. I now have 2 judgements against me and another one I expect to be filed anytime. I can not work, and my disability will never get better. I am "totally and permanent disabled". The judge that handled my judgements told me that I have a case for a "total and permanent disability discharge", but nothing could be done because no action has been taken to garnish my wages or any other action.

I talked to the local Bar Association yesterday and they told me that these debts are "non collectable secured debts". Since I started receiving my 100% compensation my credit has been excellent. It is just the 3 debts that I acquired before my total disability. Is there any way to get these debts removed? My credit scores are 587, 588, and 446. I also can't understand how 2 can be where they are and the other one so low. Any advice for me? I would appreciate any guidance. The bar association also told me that they could never touch my disability income. But if I would like to buy a small house someday, I want to have decent credit. Thank You

------------------------

all i know is dispute, validate and negotiate the debts and hope
you also have to keep 3 rated lines of 12 months good credit
all that disablitiy stuff is not really credit. I can't help much there.

Denied credit card for lack of credit. How do I get credit?

I moved here last year March 2007 and been using a credit card as a secondary holder. I tried to apply for a credit card last month, January and was denied for the reason that I haven't been established my credit. I have been trying to call Experian, TransUnion and Equifax, but they are all automated and can't talk to anyone. You might know any number that I can call or you might suggest me on how to build my credit... Like how to apply for a credit card to build my credit... What steps should I do? I thought having a credit card as a secondary holder will establish my credit, only to find out that I just wasted 1 year
-------------------------------
new law on authorized user blanked that. it was called piggbacking. you dont really do anything and get good credit. that was not fair
go here and get a credit card for bad or no credit. most if not all of these credit cards report to bureaus
-------------------------
Thank you so much for the response! You are truly amazing! I actually went to this website this afternoon. I got it from one of your articles. Only New Millineum Bank offers "no credit credit check required" with 19.50% APR! If this is the only way to build my credit, then I guess I have to take it
-------------------------
Oh by the way, I forgot to mention that one has to deposit a minimum of $300 with New Millennium and the credit limit will be equal to the balance in the collateral savings account. I hope there is other way to build a credit aside from this set-up
-----------------------
after one year ask to be cut loose from that arraignment
or
and
go ahead and get another card that does not require that.

stop by a bp oil gas station or exxon and pick up one of thier credit card app forms
apply and hope
if they turn you down call them apply again but send in 300 with your app
charge your gas only for one year and pay more than you charge each month
at the end of one year treat yourself to a gas party ot trip

keep these account open for at least one year to get a rated trade line
here is another get new good credit form i forgot about

you really need 3 rated lines of credit but you dont want to burden yourself or mess it up

7 years is about to expire on account and now account has been renewed

While in college I purchased a few things on credit and really messed up my credit history. Its been about three years since I completed everything and this is my first year a a decent paying job. My current credit score or Fico score is 579, and I am amazed that it is even that high. My problem today that I was contacted by a third party bill collector about a derogatory account and while I have the money to pay and have no problem paying the bill they are not going to remove it from my credit report. The account(s) one which is 300 dollars expires or reaches the seven year limit next June or 2008 while the other which is $2,200 expires next March. Could you please tell me the best plan of action to take, Iwant to pay, but I don't really want a double jeopardy to take place. Thankyou
-------------------------
double jeopordy is a credit fact of life
there are some common ways to deal with these

1. contact and negotiate with the original creditor. Explain you feel your Fair credit reporting right are being violated and you want to make amends but not with a third party collection agency who is gonna make this 7 year bill turn into 14
2. use debt validation with the third party collections and explain the same thing as before
3. pay the debt and mark it up to learning experience
4. re open the debt after you pay it off
then after 12 - 24 months
then,
ask for them to remove the bad marks since most creditors only report the last 24 months.

in the end if you pay them it will be good and you will have a 0% balance owed to high credit rating ratio on your credit report and your score will go up after 12 months of new good credit

charges deliquent on joint account, other person was in prison

Hi,I noticed that the last time I checked my credit report there was some errors. I had an account that I never used and there were charges on it and it was deliquent, it was a joint account, but the other person was in prison during the time of the charge. I filed a dispute online through the credit reporting agencie, but they seemed to just disregard it. I also called the company about the account and didn't really get anywhere. What can I do? Also there was addresses listed on my credit report that were wrong, could this be a sign of fraud?
---------------------
when you say never used this line of new credit card credit but it was deliquent
it sounds like you opened it up with that guy in prison
if you didnt do that
or dont know this person
then yes that would be a sign of stolen identity or fraud

if you disputed and it, it wasnt yours, and you never signed anything with this person, and it did not fall off
THEN
use the results from your credit dispute to follow up with the creditor and call the state attorney general if needed after you use this free debt validation form

How do I delete charge off acounts on my credit report?

Will you give me advice or pointers on how to delete charge off accounts on my credit report. I am trying to get back on track with my credit. My credit mainly consist of installment debt and collection debt that has been charged off. What can I do? Your response, time, and concern would be greatly appreciated.
---------
if you paid the charge off, there is nothing much you can do but dispute the collections as not yours and hope
if they are unpaid then negotiate for some credit help on your credit score before you pay.
Installment late payments are pretty much set in stone unless they have beem paid off a long time ago or the company went out of business or something. Get these late payments 24 months old with no new lates and your bad credit score will go up.

Paid collection still on my credit report. How to remove

I was looking for someone to help me and give me advice and I found your site. I realized that I screwed up when I paid in full the debt I owed to LTD, a collections agency. I paid through an electronic check and asked the person helping me, "So I'm all done right? There is nothing or bad on my credit report?" And the guy said "NO, You're all fine." Later on I tried to raise my credit limit and my bank says that I have something bad on my credit report and its going to be on there for SEVEN years!!! I have been trying to call the collections agency but I just keep getting transferred to like a million people and I have called so many times. I really need help because I'm only 19 and I don't want to have something bad like this on my credit report. I need a new car to go to school and there is no way that I could get one now that I have that on my credit report!
------------------------
nothing you can do here
but
1) dispute the account and hope
2) wait two years for the accont to not hurt your score as bad
3) keep at least open lines of credit for at least 12 months to over ride the past bad credit

remember you paid the bill ad in the end that is always best. It over and its done. It will only hurt for 2 years. 5 of those years the account is irrelevant if it is paid and you have new good credit.
AND
there is no gaurantee that even if you negotiated before you paid that they would agree to remove the account completely.
So do not beat yourself up. go on and remember

Trying to refinance a home with 105 negative statements

My fiance was laid off reducing our income. I had 13 credit accounts that all went delinquent --- charge offs, late payments (30, 60, 90, 120). Last sping (2007) I worked with a company to settle these debts. All balances are now zero, but did not raise my credit score due to the remaining negative statements. Currently there are 105 negative statements from the 13 creditors. We are on our 2nd arm mortgage and have to refinance again next Jan (2009). I am deathly afraid of getting another arm, obtaining a new payment we cant afford, or losing our home.
----------------------
over come them with new good credit
if the acounts show a zero balance.
3 new good lines of reported credit will raise your score enough in that time to help big time
this is what i did

Fix my credit. Prioritize judgments and collections for payment and negotiation

I recently found your website while browsing "credit help". You have provided some useful tips, which I plan to use. My past credit history is pretty bad (mostly charge-offs and one judgement for a medical bill), although somehow I have managed to obtain a high interest car loan and 2 lines of credit in the last 2 years, with no late payments. I am a divorced mom (deadbeat ex, no child support, left me with bills, etc..) I am now at a point where I can TRY to pay off the old unpaid bills and chargeoffs (anywhere from 2-7 years old). My question is How do I prioritize which ones to pay first? I can't do them all at once. Mostly they are several small medical bills which have gone to collection, a couple of department store cards written off as charge-offs and then duplicated by collections, and one small utility bill that went to collections. The largest is the judgement (medical bill) for $1200.00. Suggestions on prioritizing? Which ones should I try to negotiate?
------------------------
forget the judgment if it is more than 2 years olds
as nothing more can be done to your credit and paying it probably will not help

With the collections i would go, one by one, with the debt validation and follow ups.if they can validate the debts
then negotiate as best you can and hope for the best.
start with the collections that are the freshest and the least.
then work your way to older and higher as you go.

Statute of limitations on my credit report

If the Sol has run out on a dept to be collected which is 6 years in my state I think (I am in Arkansas) on a charge off or closed account can you have them removed by the credit reporting agency? Or do I have to wait to they drop off in 7 years.
--------------------------
7 on credit
if its thats old it should be hurting you much anyway with new good credit
date of last activity is here on your report
